Dr. Soumendu Bisoi was born and brought at a small beautiful village called Goaltore in Paschim Midnapore. He completed his schooling at Goaltore High School. He obtained his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry (H) from Midnapore College at Vidyasagar University in 2010 and M.Sc. degree in Chemistry in 2012 from IIT Guwahati. He then joined with the research group of Prof. Susanta Banerjee at Materials Science Centre, IIT Kharagpur and obtained his Ph.D. in July 2017. His thesis research work was on "Polyamide Membranes Having Bulky Pendant Groups with Tunable Gas Transport Properties". After receiving his Ph.D. degree, he served as a visiting faculty at Hizli College, Vidyasagar University, West Bengal till December 2017.  In January 2018, he was selected as an Assistant Professor under TEQIP-III (NPIU) program and joined at Parala Maharaja Engineering College Berhampur, Odisha.  In March 2019, he moved to Hindustan Petrochemical Green R & D Centre (HPGRDC), Bengaluru, India and worked as a Fixed Term Research Associate at Novel Separation Group till March 2020. After that, he joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Narajole Raj College, Vidyasagar University, West Bengal. At present, he is working in the same institute.
